UPC NEI: Church Administration

The administrative set up of the NEI UPC is sub-divided into General, District, Section and Local. Under these levels, there are different departments such as Missions, Sunday School, Pentecostal Youth Department (PYD) and Ladies Auxiliary Department (LAD). Their respective administration and duties are as follows:

1. General:

The General Conference and the Executive Board are the highest authority in the administration.

a) General Conference: It is held once a year. The General Superintendent is the Chairman, and all the license-holders of the Ministry of NEI UPC are the committee members. The General Conference has the authority to append what is essential, and to discuss the unnecessary and to diversify what is required in the administration of the Church. It also has the authority to resolve any agendas from the Executive Board, District Conference and Boards, and agendas which the resolution committee forwarded to the General Conference.

b) Executive Board: It is authorised to framework the regulations and administration of the Church. They are the decision-makers for setting up of new districts, giving church licenses, planning budgets and the administration of the Church. The General Superintendent is the Chairman of this Board and the members include General Officials, Directors and Presidents of each Department, each of the District Superintendents and 1 member in every 5000 members. This Board is held twice a year and at the time when the officials find it necessary, at the General Headquarters office. The General Headquarters office bearers can convene the Executive Board, as and when it feel necessary.

c) Officials: The General Superintendent, General Secretary and General Treasurer.

2. District:

This is under the General level. It is administered by District Conference and District Board.

a) District Conference: District Superintendent is the Chairman. Every licence-holders of the District, one representative church elder to represent each church and one member out of 500 members are the Board members. It is held once a year and they do discuss about the District administration, inaugurations of new sections, etc.

b) District Board: The District Superintendent is the Chairman. He is assigned the responsibilities to carry out the directives of the District administration and the General Constitution. He also has the power to appoint workers for the District and other agendas within the District. The District Board can be held anytime the District officials, as and when it deem necessary.

c) Officials: The District Superintendent, District Secretary and District Treasurer.

3. Section:

It is governed by Section Conference and Sectional Board.

a) Section Conference: Sectional Pastor is the Chairman. Church members of a section attaining the age of 18 years attending the conference are the members. It is held once a year and the Section's Official agenda, and agendas from each local unit of a section are being resolved in this conference.

b) Section Board: Sectional Pastor is the Chairman. The members include the officials of each local unit, Presidents and Directors of each Sectional Departments and agendas from its members and local church are resolved in this board.

c) Officials: Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.

4. Local:

It is governed and administered by the Local Church Board.

a) Church Board: The Chairman is appointed by the Sectional Pastor who are duly approved by the members within. The members are- Deacon Elders appointed by Sectional Pastor for 2 years term, further members can be appointed depending on the number of members in within the framework of the General Constitution and also the church license holders. They are responsible for the local church administration.

b) Officials: Church Board Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
